What are the risks of penile girth enhancement? Insights from a recent UroFill® study

Curious about the risks and long-term results of penile girth enhancement? This blog post breaks down key findings from a recent UroFill® study

Over the past few years, there’s been a surge in men seeking cosmetic procedures to enhance their genital appearance. Unfortunately, many of these procedures are being offered by non-specialists, leading to inconsistent results and unnecessary risks. That’s where UroFill® comes in—a groundbreaking, evidence-based technique designed to safely and effectively increase penile girth under the care of certified urologists.

A major study presented at the 25th Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) last year highlights why UroFill® stands out:

What Did the Study Show?

The study followed 563 men who received UroFill® treatments between October 2021 and January 2024. These men were treated by six specially trained urologists—five in Brazil and one in the United States—who strictly followed the UroFill® protocol. Here’s what the study found:

  • Who Were the Patients?
The patients ranged in age from 22 to 87 years, with an average age of 43 in Brazil and 50 in the United States. Half of them were circumcised, and a quarter had penile implants in place before undergoing UroFill®.

  • How Many Treatments Did They Need?
On average, patients required 2 to 4 visits to reach their desired girth.

  • Were There Any Complications?
About 5% of patients experienced minor skin infections. However, these infections were mild and easily treated with oral antibiotics. None of the patients needed surgery, and no severe complications like implant infections or long-term issues were reported. Interestingly, most infections were linked to patients not following aftercare instructions properly, such as resuming sexual activity too soon or improper grooming.

High Satisfaction, Minimal Risk

Despite the minor infections in only a few cases, patient satisfaction remained high. The study showed that patients who received larger volumes of filler were more satisfied with their results, confirming that the UroFill® technique is highly effective when tailored to each individual’s preferences.

This personalised approach is one of the key reasons UroFill® stands apart. Unlike other methods where patients have little control over the final result, UroFill® allows men to work closely with their urologist to achieve their desired look and feel, ensuring both safety and satisfaction.

Why Choose UroFill®?

UroFill® isn’t just another cosmetic procedure—it’s a scientifically proven method backed by years of research and performed only by highly trained urologists. Here’s why more men are choosing UroFill®:

  1. Safety: UroFill® follows a strict protocol designed to minimise risks, and any minor issues are easily managed.

  2. Tailored Care: You get to decide how much girth you want, and your urologist will create a plan tailored to your goals.

  3. Durability: Previous research shows that men who underwent UroFill® maintained over 92% of their volume even 2 years after the procedure.
